Why COVER to COVER?

Veterans may not know about their VA benefits.

Many Veterans are unaware of their VA benefits or have misinformation about what the benefits are and how to apply for them. Veterans might think their income is too high, or they did not serve in combat/war-time periods, or VA has slashed services, so they believe they don’t qualify for benefits. Unfortunately, many community agency staff lack proper information, do not understand VA benefits, and are confused by the VA system. This makes it a difficult and challenging task to assist Veterans to get connected to VA.

The COVER to COVER program delivers education and training to community agency staff, including Navigating the VA, Military Culture, and VA benefits. This provides a doorway for Veterans within their community to learn more about VA benefits and how to get connected.

So this is why COVER to COVER....
"We just couldn't figure it out on our own and no one ever helped us, so we gave up." - a Veteran trying to navigate VA without help
